Adventure trips

Every Friday we take our adventure van out to explore all there is to learn and do. Sometimes we immerse ourselves in nature. Sometimes we work alongside a local expert to explore their passion. We always look for hands-on experiences where we can get our hands dirty!

This is also a great way for the community to participate in our programs — if you’re passionate about what you do, we’d love to come visit!

Past adventure trips

Water Quality and Oysters

We learned how to test for water quality, use a seine net, and what's inside an oyster!

Kayaking on the Magothy

We explored the Magothy River and its abundant wildlife.

Survival Skills with John Fishback

We tasted edible plants and made primitive shelters, fires, and bone knives.

Shipbuilding and Iron Forging

We got hands-on with iron forging and wood carving while learning about how ships are made.
