Is your child's education holding them back from reaching their full potential?
Children enter kindergarten full of curiosity. Year by year, their interest evaporates as they sit at their desks, staring at worksheets and preparing for standardized tests. By graduation, most students associate learning with drudgery, rather than joy.
But what if school could be different? We believe that education should spark curiosity and inspire students to approach learning and exploration (and life!) with the enthusiasm of a kindergartner. That's why we launched our Acton Academy elementary program in the fall of 2023, as part of the Acton Academy network – a global community of over 270 innovative, learner-driven schools.
Our adventure van will be out and about, whisking students away on wild expeditions to uncover hidden gems and encounter inspiring people. It's not just a field trip – it's a catalyst for discovering future passions, forging meaningful connections, and finding extraordinary mentors. Read more about our Adventure Trips.

We don't divide children into grades as there are many benefits to a multi-age classroom (peer learning, empathy, leadership). However, we do divide our studios into elementary, middle, and high school groupings. Our middle and high school studios are not yet launched; we will seek approval from the Maryland Department of Education for a fall of 2024 launch.
